2014 Trip
We set off on 11 April 14 and arrived home 4 months later on 18 August 14. So far, we have covered a total of 9,117 kilometres or 5,665 miles over 131 days. Travelling an average of 70 km per day with the longest journey being 780 km.
We have travelled to and visited 11 countries and consumed 1,003 litres of diesel from 25 fuel stations with an average of 26 mpg.
We’ve filled our LPG bottles 12 times and used 276 litres of gas to heat our home, run the fridge and freezer, hot water, oven, grill, hob and last but not least our BBQ at an average cost of €1.06 per day.
We have paid 23 tolls, tunnels and mountain passes and 4 ferries. We’ve had 101 minor issues with the motorhome, reversed in to a garage air pump and encountered 1 major water ingress problem.
Overnight, we have stayed on 34 campsites or aires but we have grown to love wild camping and spent 97 nights where ever the road takes us.
79 supermarket sweeps and 12 evenings of fine dining.
A total of 79 days with nothing but sunshine, 28 overcast days, 4 mixed and only 20 days of rain.
