The Bi Village Campsite seems rather a peculiar name choice. But, its location and facilities are spot on. The beach with its white shingle against pale blue ocean is rather fetching.
Our first afternoon, we stroll along the seafront with Mac n Tosh. Dipping our toe in the water and skim pebbles for the chase. Another glorious day and within half an hour we arrive at the quaint fishing village of Fazana.
We stroll along the small marina with a selection of small fishing boats. The man made rock pier is a great place to appreciate the village from a distance. It also gives Mac n Tosh ample things to sniff from fishing nets to a weird but curios musical cat plaque. A smattering of Italian style piazza’s dotted between the church and alleyways. All along the sea front, casual restaurants, cafes, and pizza parlours. All with tables and chairs located just out of reach from the splashing waves. The village is mall and cosy with a good vibe.
On the way back we stop at a beach bar for an afternoon beer..or two..or three! Hiccup!
The next morning, we head in to Pula on Eor. Its about 10km, so not a long drive before we park up on the seafront. Now every morning since we arrived in Croatia it threatened thunder storms and not once has it rained. Until today. We park up, walk around the grand Coliseum and cyclonic winds arrive. Along with the leaves and litter we are blown down the street back to Eor. We arrive and the heavens open. Nothing for it, we take shelter under a huge tree and wait.
Thankfully it wasn’t long and the rain stopped. We hop on Eor, travel one street and then whoosh, more rain. We pull over and then waited. For fifteen minutes we were the only people on the street. Avidly watched by the eyes of an old lady peering from behind her apartment shutters. We stand on the marina and watch raindrops the size of bullets beat circles in the puddles. The clouds were getting darker and the rain was not backing down. By now, the streets were half flooded and the cars whooshed as they passed. It was clear the storm was in for a long standing.
We bit the bullet, jump on Eor and head back to the campsite. The main road was a wash with loose gravel and stones from the embankment. Gypsum nuggets, jagged as arrowheads, flew up against us, it was like dodging bullets. Uneasily we slowly drove on, and steeled ourselves for the prospect of a wet motorhome. Holy shit, had we left the sky light open? As the thunder and lightening intensified and our worries turn to Mac n Tosh. I bet the poor dudes are frightened.
We turn off the headland to be greeted by a flooded road. An orange mud bath to be precise. Bleeding el, can this get any worse? We chuckle and slowly move forward. Craig got a good momentum with the water tidy and managed to minimise the spray, for what it was worth. Then ahead of us on the opposite side of the road an advancing wave of water. It was like a cross between a ride on the log flumes and an Indiana movie scene. A hell bent pickup truck spray us in head to toe with orange mud. I screamed just as another wave hit us. Then the hysteria kicked in and I could not stop laughing. We were like two drowned rats with an intense orange spray tan.
We trundle on, peering helplessly through the murk of our muddy visors. Finally, we arrive to a deserted and washed out campsite. We hose each other down before stepping in to Vin. Orange mud just dripped off us (sorry no photos but we really were a mess). Not the day we planned but none the less we had brilliant fun.

By late afternoon, the storm had passed and we to treat ourselves we went out for dinner. And just as we were leaving we received an email to say we’d been listed in Top 10 UK Motorhome Blogs along with our travel buddies Jay & Julie. Not sure how the list is compiled but its feels good to get some recognition for our efforts. With a spring in our step we set off for dinner. We examined six or seven restaurants along the seafront. All offering virtually the same menu. We were mystified by the menus, wishing we knew the Croatian for pig’s trotters as it seemed to be the hot dish of the day. Mac n Tosh looked well pleased with a trotter but somehow Craig didn’t seem to fussed. In the end, we took the safe option and headed to HF restaurant on the seafront. Offering a variety of European plus Mac n Tosh allowed to join us as long as they were quiet.
Craig enjoyed his spicy pizza whilst I gawked at my fritto miso for half an hour. As did the fish head (with eyes, week) on my plate. Sometimes Mac n Tosh do have their benefits! Overall we had a lovely meal along with a nice cool beer on the way home.

As always great pictures and for me very pleasing and truly inspirational thank you regards Keith.
Thanks Keith, hope you are keeping well
Thank you for your latest post on Pula, I have had a look at it How long in advance did you have to book? I have tried a few combinations of dates and its full according to computer,
Very envious of your beach bar stop 🙂
We didn’t book in advance, we just turned up and vacant pitches no problem (room for another 100 vans at a guess). I suppose it depends on when you are planning to visit? The season usually kicks in towards the end of June. If you are struggling with website bookings then maybe phone the reception. As always they speak several languages extremely well.
Lovely pics and straight forward text with many amusing incidents expressed so vividly. It is no surprise to me that you are in the top 10 Bumble editors. Well done to both.
Glad to see you continue to develop your interest in obscure and risky food Joanne. Take care and look after yourselves. K
